Since 1976, we’ve lived and worked on Ramspring Farm, treating our horses like our own family.
Ramspring Farm is a complete thoroughbred breeding, foaling, boarding, and sales preparation facility located in Frankfort, Kentucky.
The 200-acre farm is nestled above the limestone palisades above and alongside the Kentucky River. We are located within an hour from all major breeding farms in central Kentucky, as well as Keeneland and Fasig-Tipton sales companies.
We invite you to come visit—and welcome the chance to board your mare, offering you the best opportunity for a successful venture in thoroughbred breeding. An individualized program for each border ensures the best care for your investment.
Here’s our story.
O. M. “Mac” and Mary Leigh Patrick purchased the farm in 1976 from the state veterinarian, Dr. Ben Roach. Soon thereafter, one of the first yearlings for sale was Bail Out Becky, purchased by Ken and Sarah Ramsey, which became the 1978 Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks winner. Bail Out Becky went on to earn more than $700,000 for the Ramseys, who have since campaigned many more great-graded stakes winners from this family.
We work hard to provide the best care for your mare and utilize the best veterinary services in central Kentucky to ensure that your mare has the best opportunity to be a successful producer.
We provide meticulous attention to detail in each and every foal and mare on the farm. The owners of the farm personally oversee all aspects of the operation.
Since 1976, Ramspring Farm has been producing quality resources for its clients. The 38-stall capacity operation is now accepting additional boarding mares.
The Patricks still live and work on the farm to this day.
